Team Brennan - Sending Love Your Way

Little Buddy still on my mind. I wake up in the mornings and the first thing I do is check his mommy’s facebook for updates on Brennan. I dread the day that the update reads "Brennan passed...". All I see when I look at pictures of this sweet little 23 month old boy is my sweet 22 month old Jaylyn. My heart hurts for the family, especially his mommy. Again, if you are able to donate anything toward Brennan’s end of life planning and to help his family pay for their regular everyday bills now that his daddy isn’t working, please do so here. Brennan’s dad deserves to be home by his son’s side until the day comes.

Here’s a card for them:

I used:
Lawn Fawn's You've Got Mail stamp set, Lawn Fawn's Bannerific stamp set, Lawn Fawn's Bon Voyage stamp set, Lawn Fawn's Say Cheese stamp set, twine from The Twinery, the paper is from October Afternoon's Sidewalk line 6x6 paper pad, the blue background is tissue paper, and the letter stickers are also from October Afternoon.

Team Brennan Against Childhood Cancer

The first little person to steal my heart and own every inch of it was my son. Then came my daughter, and although it’s hard to imagine being able to share that immense love you feel for your first born with another little person, it is totally possible. That little girl didn’t take away from the love I feel for my son, she didn’t even squeeze herself into my already occupied heart. She instead, managed to make my heart grow enough to make room for her.

Meet Brennan

How many times have you come across a post on facebook that came from a friend of a friend’s mother’s sister’s daughter and your first thought is "poor baby" or "I guess my life could be worse" or a thought to that affect, but never gave it a second thought? You keep surfing your facebook like you would any other day. This has happened to me before, until just the other day. I came across a post from a friend about a family she knows. This family has a 23 month old baby boy, Brennan, who at the tender age of 10 months old was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. I guess it hit real close to home because my little girl is 22 months old, and my son was once also a baby. Imagine, 10 months old, haven’t even began living the life of a healthy toddler and you’re already faced with having to fight for your life. Life is not fare at all! I won’t get into the whole story here for the simple fact that it would take forever to break it down the way it’s already been broken down on Brennan’s site. But, I do urge you to read the entire site. This little man has, like my daughter, managed to make my already occupied heart grown a few extra inches in the love department; and I’ve never met him and am sure I never will.

Please, please, please, take a few moments out of your busy schedule and let this sweet little boy steal your heart too.

Since his diagnosis, Brennan did well for about ten months but was recently diagnosed with another form of cancer, high grade undifferentiated sarcoma. He is now fighting two forms of very aggressive cancers. Cindy and Blake, Brennan’s mom and dad, were given news that no parent should ever have to hear. Their precious, sweet, baby boy, has no other options. There is nothing more that the doctors can do for Brennan. In fact, continuing chemo is a sure death sentence for baby Brennan. He is now home on hospice and his mommy and daddy are struggling to pay their every bill because the only thing that matters right now is that they spend every last minute possible by their son. This leaves them with very little income if any so I beg of you to please make a donation to their family at this very sad time for them. Any little bit helps.

Baby Bee Baby Shower

I'm telling you, my favorite part of being creative and making things is getting crafty for special ocassions like birthday parties and baby showers.

My baby girl (who is now almost 2) never really gave me that "OMG I'm having a girl so everything must be pink" feeling.  Instead, everytime I was told something by a family member or friend about my color choices for her nursery and baby shower, I went deeper into the non-girly color schemes :).

I fell in love with bees and fairys the entire time I had her in my belly.  Everything had something to do with bees or fairys, I mean everything! Such huge gravitational pull toward stuff that never before caught my eye.  Fairys?! Are you kidding me?! I am by far the most tom boyish girl I know.  Out of my group of girls that is.

Take a look at what I did for her baby shower invites:
I used Papertrey Ink's fabulous stamp set Baby Button Bits as well as their awesome Golden Harvest Buttons.  The ribbons are all random choices of mine that I picked up at my local crafty store.

I cut all my cardstock down to size and printed them with the information and I included an insert which asked all my guest to help build a library for Jaylyn.  I love that idea (which I picked up from web browsing) because it really does help and it adds a little something extra and unique to the invite.  I love it!

I Love You - Owl Card

Still on the “oldie but goodie” kick today guys! I think I’ll be on it for some time. I’ve made several projects that I have yet to post on my blog and I’m taking advantage of my inspirational block to share. :)

Enjoy!

This card is another ‘just because’ card. I made it for no particular reason and it too puts a smile on my face.

Supply:

Everything I used on this card, except for the stamps and twine, are hand-me-downs. I believe the paper is October Afternoon and, of course, the fabulous stamps are from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Forrest. The banner is an idea I picked up while browsing though flickr and I cannot remember who to give credit to. I really do have to get way better at crediting. Anyway, thee red twine comes from The Twinery.

Oldie But Goodie

So how about some old projects I've worked on brought to light?! Hmmm, I think so.

Created for no reason in particular, this "i <3 u" card makes me smile. I love the sweetness of it and it's simplicity too. Maybe one day, for no reason in particular, I'll give it to the hubby or someone near and dear to my heart. ;) Great for a birthday card too. Anywho:

Cupcakes, hearts, zig zags, and twine, oh my! Hehe. Stamp, cut out, and turn your Lawn Fawn polaroid stamp from the Say Cheese set on it's side and embelish as you please. My cupcake and heart embellies are also Lawn Fawn and they are from their Bake Me A Cake set. Total awesomeness I must say! Super versatile set and like with all their sets, you get such clean even stamped images. No skipping, and if you're a stamper, you know not all stamps work very well.

I strung some white and green twine from The Twinery across the top of the polaroid stamp and hung my cupcakes from it using itty bitty clothes pins that I found at Michaels. Super cute, eh?! The "i" and the "u" are also Lawn Fawn and they are from the Harold's ABC set. And lastly, but certainly not least, everything is paperpieced using MME's Alphabet Soup Collection. Have I mentioned how much I absolutely love MME? The texture and paper quality is off the charts in my opinion and their colors and designs are just plain awesome. Totally the closest to my style.
Enjoy peeps!

I will be posting more old projects soon. Stay tuned! ;)

You Make My World Go Round

And it’s another beautiful day in sunny south FLA! :)

Perfectly perfect day to share my newest card with you all. I’m still playing with my new Lawn Fawn “Admit One” set. I’ve decided to give my not so favorite stamps in the set a try and it turns out I actually adore them. The ferris wheel is one of those stamps, for me, that at first sight doesn’t really move me in any direction. Doesn’t inspire me greatly. Although I do think it’s cute, it’s just not my favorite. I also have this wonderful collection from My Mind’s Eye that I won and haven’t really put to use. I’ve used a few pieces here and there but nothing major. What a waste of great product huh! Shame on me for letting it sit on my shelf for so long, hehe! The collection I won is the Lost and Found 2 Sunshine collection. What great colors let me tell you. I love the burlap, the brads, the patterns, I just love everything about it.

Check it out!

All the papers and embellishments on the card are from My Mind’s Eye, including the burlap, the gold brad in the middle of the ferris wheel, the itty bitty gold pearls on each cart, and the copper looking pearls at each end of the banner. The ferris wheel, tickets, and sentiment are all from Lawn Fawn’s “Admit One” set. And the banner stamp’s maker is unknown to me because it was a hand-me-down, but I don’t discriminate and I absolutely love it :). I used stickles for the glittery look on the carts and everything is held down with mod podge. Of course, everything that pops has pop up foamies underneath.

Enjoy!

Lawnscaping Challenge #30 - Inspired By - Entry #2

This is entry number 2 for me to lawnscaping's challenge #30 - Inspired By

I was inspired by the movie Up. Disney's Up is my daughters favorite movie right now. We watch it almost every day in my household. I love it too! Such a great story and message for the little ones. Anywho, what better mix than Disney and Lawn Fawn stamps can you think of!? :). I just love the way the barn looks floating away with those balloons.

Enjoy!

Hijacked dinner table!

What do you think?! I think it's time for a little spring cleaning and the only way to do that is to make a bunch of stuff which will make me have to use my supply and eventually leave me with a clear table!! ;)

Happy craftings!

St. Patty's Weekend - Lawnscaping Challenge (Inspired By)

Lawnscaping Challenge Entry #30 - Inspired By

The hubby and I have decided that we want to visit as many local fair grounds as we can and lately there have been quite a few in town. The kids love it for the rides and games and we enjoy all the awesome greasy foods. It's becoming a little family tradition for our bunch.

Our fair trips is total inspiration for this cotton candy card but the inspiration first came from a card I saw in the Lawn Fawn Flickr group. The card is by hilde1978 and here is a link to her awesomeness. I tweaked mine a little and so the outcome of the card is different, but, of course, this is what always happens, right!? You take an idea from someone who totally inspires you and make it your own. I love the outcome and I thank hilde1978 for the inspiration and idea. :)

Totally awesome stamps!!! :)

Here is another card I worked on thsi St. Patty's day weekend. My favorite all time book is Charlotte’s Web and as soon as the idea entered my brain I had to turn to my scrap area! Here is the outcome.

I Like Ewe!

I think I’ve regained my creative inspiration! Yay!! Oh, how I’ve missed you. :)

Last night, after (and during) the kids settled down, I threw this card together. The idea in my head and my hands actually coordinated with each other cause this is the fastest I’ve ever put anything together. The end product made me happy too! Enjoy!

Materials:
I used Lawn Fawn's Critters on the Farm for the sheep, birds, and sentiment. You've Got Mail for the envelope, and Bake Me a Cake for the hearts. The paper is October Afternoon's Thrift Shop and Fly a Kite 8x8 paper pads. I also used chalk inks and distress ink and for the middle cloud, white embossing powder. Everything is held down with Paper Mod Podge and all that pops up has pop up foamies underneath.

Lawnscaping Challenge #29

Lawnscaping Challenge #29

For more info go here

This is my first entry ever to a Lawnscaping Challenge and I’m so excited to finally be entering something.

A little story behind my time spent making this card:
The hubby and I spent our weekend in Naples because my cousin was getting married and we, of course, were going. Yea well, that was the plan until the hubby couldn’t get off the toilet for almost 2 days straight. Not cool! We ended up missing the wedding cause he was so sick and spent the majority of the weekend inside our hotel room. Not so bad if you think ahead like me and bring your scrapbook stuff along on a trip!! :) Any who, here are my creations of a wedding weekend gone wrong, or right! Enjoy.

This is my challenge entry! I had so much fun using my new Lawn Fawn stamps.

Here are some other projects I worked on this weekend!
